  • Lotus Connections’ Profiles service allows searching for people by name, expertise, or keyword. Along with standard results like contact info, etc. links to the blogs, communities, activities, and bookmarks associated with the person being searched are also provided.
  • Lotus Connections’ Dogear service - the social bookmarking service - enables tagging and sharing bookmarks.
  • Communities bring people together with common interests and assignments. It is possible for community members to discuss relevant issues, conduct polls to gather information, and share resources. Besides this, selected partners from outside an organization can join and participate in a community.
  • For better tracking to-do lists and managing deadlines, Activities allows employees manage their tasks by organizing, sharing, and collaborating on all files, instant messaging chats, e-mail messages, and Web links associated with a given task.
  • Lotus Connections Blogs service allows creating and posting fast and easy blogs.

A simple video chat application development with Lotus Sametime Telephony client toolkit Monday, Nov 3 2008 

The Lotus Sametime 8.0 telephony service includes voice and video chat functions and the click-to-call function. Along with these new features of voice and video chat and the click-to-call functions. By utilizing the extensible platform based on the Eclipse plug-in framework which Lotus Sametime 8.0 provides, it is possible to expand real-time communication with telephony and audio-visual capabilities.
